Repaired shower floor and curb

Shower floor tile was installed by previous installer with mastic; tile were coming up.  Mud bed was uneven and caused puddling. Shower curb was installed pitching into the bathroom rather than into the shower.  Curbstone had unfinished edges and no overhang.  All items were corrected using correct setting materials, leveling out low spots in floor, rebuilding curb and installing new curbstone with proper pitching and finished edges, along with overhang and water proofing.

Curbstone was supplied by Absolute Granite & Design.

Steam shower floor replacement

The white areas are indications of efflorescence; dissolved salts migrating to the surface of the shower bed, since the cement bed was not sealed against steam penetration into the porous cement bed.  Closer looks at the perimeter also indicate low spots where puddling has occurred.
